A Trip to Utah

In March Tara and I went to Utah for a camping trip.  The first night we spent in Colorado National Monument.  After wandering around the desert looking for an open road to Rattlesnake Canyon we ended up camping in some random BLM land as the roads weren't going open until early summer.

The "kissing couple."  Looks like an awesome climb.

The next day we made our way to Black Dragon Canyon just east of Green River.  Driving up the canyon I promptly got properly stuck... Two hours later we were once again on our way going through the Jackass Benches to a camping spot near Black Box Canyon.

We hiked down Black Box Canyon until we reached the first big swim, and then turned back.  Xoe was not very happy with us as it was hard for her to swim back up the current.

Crossing under Swazy's Leap (Apparently a guy jumped his horse over that gap to win a herd of sheep from his brother).

Xoe not enjoying the swim upstream.

Enjoying a very cold, sunny swim.

Enjoying the last bit of my time in the water

Hiking through some beautiful terrain back to camp

On our way home we stopped at Petroglyph Canyon which is near the entrance to Black Dragon and checked out some petroglyphs.  Online it said the petroglyphs were very easy to find, but it took us a good two hours of frustrating searching to find them.  I literally walked passed them three times before I finally saw them.
There are two walls.  One is this one, and the other is so vandalized and shot up by rednecks that it's unrecognizable.
